CCC Household Recycling Service Consultation

Cambridgeshire County Council's consultation on the Household Recycling Service started on Friday 15th August and will run for a six-week period until Friday 26th September. During this period they are encouraging residents to complete the online questionaire which can be found at http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/recyclingcentreservice
This online consultation focuses on residents' current use of the service and their thoughts on the options being considered - which range from closing sites; transferring them to charitable or voluntary organisations; reduction in hours and days of operation across all sites; charging for certain DIY waste streams; and limiting the use of sites to larger vehicles to deter trade waste use. This online consultation will run alongside surveys being undertaken by AmeyCespa at all of the nine household recycling centres(HRCs) within Cambridgeshire (Alconbury, Bluntisham, Milton, March, St Noets, Thriplow, Whittlesey, Wisbech and Witchford) to ensure users of the service can have their say.

Beer Bread Demonstration

Unfortunately our speakers for March, The Nutty Tarts, were unable to make our meeting last night so our committee jumped into the void and gave members and visitors alike a great evening.
Firstly we had a Beer Bread Demonstration and tasting session....with recipe details available to take away. For anyone who missed these or could not be there on the night, the details are on our facebook page. (TheWIBluntishamandColne)
We then got the chance to demonstrate our cupcake decorating skills with cupcakes baked by two committee members. ...and just to keep everyone busy throughout, there was a picture quiz about cakes on each table...needless to say most people got most of them correct....it is the WI after all...!
A good fun evening was had by all......
Join us next time for a talk by Amy Lewis on 'The Wildlife Trust'
